The Electronic Butler is a handy C3 agent that listens to the speech of creatures everywhere in the world. If it intercepts a complaint involving hunger or boredom, the Butler will speedily deliver to the unhappy creature the food or toy that they need to be happy again.
After a world has progressed a bit and their population increases, norns, grendels, and especially ettins begin to spread out within the ship. Keeping up with all of them and tending their basic needs for food and play gets to be quite a chore. With the Electronic Butler on duty, toys and food are taken care of, leaving you free to devote your time to other aspects of life as the hand.
