The submerged Statue of Nornity in Creatures (full image here) is a reference to the film The Planet of the Apes.

A couple notable bugs exist in the vicinity of the Statue, perhaps drawn there by its mystical energies. A Black Hole exists above the Statue's crown, and the egg in the sky will, on occasion, appear high above the Statue, near the moon.
